Dr. Brooke Yules James spent her undergraduate years at Cornell University School of Agriculture and Life Sciences in New York and then attended Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999. She was born and raised in Massachusetts but after graduation spread her wings and moved out west to Colorado. She began a mixed animal veterinary clinical career in Aurora and then moved to the Castle Rock area south of Denver.
Dr. Brooke started the Animal Care Center in Castle Rock with her partner, Dr. Shawn Wayment, in 2003. They proceeded to expand their small mixed animal (partially mobile for Large Animal) practice to an 8000 square foot facility in Castle Pines. Dr. Brooke likes to focus on pain management in animals and loves being in a practice that has access to rehab for dogs and cats. She spends her spare time with her family and loves to ski, swim, and enjoy the Colorado mountains.
