Medical Services/Preventative Care

We are a service oriented veterinary practice with the capability to provide complete health care for your pets. We routinely practice preventative medicine…such services include allergy diagnosing and testing; heartworm testing and prevention; HomeAgain® microchips for dogs, cats and horses; senior wellness exams; osteoarthritis prevention and treatment; PreventiCare® for your equine companions; immunizations to fit your pets’ life style; artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis; parasite detection and treatment; laceration repair and other minor surgical repairs; colic preventative and treatment; equine lameness work ups; and equine pre-purchase examines to name a few.

Pain Management

We provide a wide variety of pain control options for acute or chronic pain. Each pet is evaluated as an individual to determine their pain level and what pain control they may need. Your animal’s comfort is one of our highest priorities.

Surgery

We are able to perform a wide variety of basic surgeries for your pets. Our doctors are accomplished soft tissue surgeons and routinely carry out lump removals, spay, neuters, foreign body removals from stomach or intestines, dental surgery, stenotic nares repair, entropion or ectropion repair, and bladder stone removals. The Animal Care Center is able to bring board certified surgeons in to the clinic to perform more complicated orthopedic surgeries.

Laparoscopic Surgery

The Animal Care Center is excited to offer laparoscopic spays, biopsies, bladder surgeries, cryptorchid surgeries, and gastropexies (stomach tacking for breeds at risk for bloat). This less invasive surgical technique greatly speeds the recovery process for abdominal surgery. We are able to avoid the traditional larger abdominal incision in your pet with this state-of-the-art technique. Please consider this less painful technique as a surgical option for your pet.  For more information on Laparoscopic spays or surgery, please Click Here.

Laser Surgery

We offer advanced technology for our clients’ dogs, cats, and horses by providing them the option of laser surgery. Laser surgery is the utilization of a CO2 laser that works by using an invisible beam of light. What does this mean for your pets? Laser surgery equals precision, decreased infections, less pain, less bleeding, and less swelling. Ultimately, laser surgery amounts to a more rapid recovery and less post-operative discomfort for your pets.

Anesthesia/Anesthesia Monitoring

We have safe anesthetic machines and anesthetic monitoring devices. With our new VetSpecs®-VSM7 anesthesia monitoring machine, we can examine your pets’ blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation of blood (pulse oximetry), respiratory rate, carbon dioxide levels, body temperature, and heart rhythm by ECG while they are under anesthesia. This advanced machine very closely monitors your pets’ vital signs while they are under anesthesia which allows us to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, ultimately leading to a safer recovery from anesthesia.

Radiology/Ultrasound

We are equipped with our own radiographic and ultrasonic equipment here at the Animal Care Center of Castle Rock. Also, we will routinely consult with the best veterinary radiologists in the Denver-metro area. Routine procedures performed here on a daily basis include ultrasounds for pregnancy diagnosis or management of the fetus, ultrasounds of abdominal masses or other abnormalities, OFA radiographs, and diagnostic radiographs of the chest and abdomen to name a few.

Dentistry

We are equipped to do both equine and small animal dentistry. Our veterinarians have advanced training in dental procedures involving the horse. We are also equipped with a Power Float® to assist in equine dentistry. On the small animal side, our practice recently acquired digital dental radiology equipment to assist our diagnosis of dental disease. This aids the investigation of healthy versus unhealthy teeth in your pet’s mouth as well allows us to evaluate cavities that are not evident to the naked eye.

Prescription Diets/Nutrition Counseling

We carry multiple major brands of prescription diets to aid in the dietary treatment of your pets. We have diets for food allergies, urinary health, gastrointestinal health, joint health, etc. Our veterinarians will answer any of your questions and help you choose the proper diet for your pets, small and large.
